Vu Thang

Vu Thang graduated from Hanoi Fine Arts College in 1992. His practice is rooted in the lifestyle of the Central Highlands, where he lived for 10 years among the ethnic minority. His paintings are inspired by primitive art and funerary statues that have been found in the region’s caves. Later his practice evolved towards more abstracted forms, with many characters defined without a face.
