La Hon graduated in 1963 from the Gia Dinh School of Art Decoration. He won several awards, among which includes the Second Prize at the 1997 H&S exhibition in Ho Chi Minh City. His work has also been shown outside Vietnam in Tokyo, Bangkok, and Singapore. His painting Family is both reassuring and haunting. Its pyramidal construction foregrounds a disorganized geometry and is bathed in a deep, unusual light. The absence of hair further enhances the barren feeling of desolation.
